Ingredients
  

Layer Ingredients

  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1 lb ground beef cooked with taco seasoning and cooled
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup salsa or chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives for flag stars
  • 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper for flag stripes
  • chopped green onions or cilantro for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Cook the ground beef with taco seasoning mix as directed on the packet. Let it cool slightly.
  • Spread refried beans evenly in a rectangular glass serving dish.
  • Add the cooked beef as the next layer.
  • Spread salsa or chopped tomatoes on top of the beef layer.
  • Gently spread the sour cream layer across the entire dish.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly across the top.
  • Arrange sliced black olives in the top-left corner to form the flag's star field.
  • Use diced red bell peppers to create stripes across the top of the dip.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions or cilantro and chill for 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Make sure the beef is cooled slightly to keep your layers neat and creamy. Add guacamole for extra richness or swap sour cream for Greek yogurt to lighten it up!
